What Takes Place?
1. Initial Contact and Scheduling: Stokes Plumbing & Mechanical is contacted by the customer to request a gas test. The customer provides property details, including residence type, location, number of gas meters, and gas appliance quantity. An application for a gas testing permit is submitted, and once the permit is issued, an appointment for gas testing is scheduled.

2. Arrival and Introduction: At the scheduled time, the plumber arrives at the customer's location and introduces themselves. They explain the gas testing procedure to the customer and may ask additional questions to determine the locations of gas appliances and piping.

3. Set-up: The plumber disconnects any existing gas meter and isolates all gas appliance drops. Compressed air is then introduced to the gas distribution system, and the test is allowed to sit for a specified duration. If any leaks are detected, a leak check is performed to locate the leaks.

4. Leak Repair: In the event of discovered leaks, the plumber discusses repair options with the customer and proceeds with necessary repairs.

5. Billing and Payment: The plumber presents an invoice or service report to the customer, detailing the work completed, including parts used and labor costs. The customer then makes the payment according to the agreed-upon terms, which may involve immediate payment or alternative arrangements.

6. Inspection: A gas test inspection is scheduled, requiring access to the customer's home. The customer is required to be present during the inspection.

7. Clean-Up and Restoration: Following the inspection of the gas test, the plumber tidies up the work area by removing any debris or materials used during the service. They aim to leave the customer's property clean and presentable. If any appliances or fixtures were disconnected during the service, the plumber reconnects them as necessary.

8. Gas Service Release: The customer can now proceed to contact their utilities provider to restore gas service. In some cases, a new gas meter installation may be required.

9. Final Inspection: An inspector returns to ensure that all gas appliances are properly connected and functioning correctly.
